Chloride is one of the most vital electrolytes in your blood. Working in tandem with sodium, potassium, and bicarbonate, it regulates the amount of fluid in your body and maintains your critical acid-base (pH) balance. Because chloride is highly sensitive to changes in kidney function and hydration levels, it serves as a primary marker for metabolic stability.
At AvoVita Wellness, we provide professional, at-home blood collection for Chloride testing across Calgary, allowing you to monitor your internal chemistry without the need for a clinic visit.
Private Chloride Testing in Calgary
Chloride levels are a key indicator of how well your body is managing its "internal environment." Testing is essential for investigating:
Hydration Status: Elevated chloride (hyperchloremia) is often a sign of severe dehydration or high salt intake, while low levels (hypochloremia) can indicate overhydration or fluid loss.
Kidney & Adrenal Health: Your kidneys are responsible for maintaining chloride levels. Abnormal results can be an early signal of renal stress or adrenal insufficiency.
Acid-Base Regulation: Chloride helps keep your body’s pH in the narrow range required for survival. Imbalances can indicate metabolic alkalosis or acidosis.
Digestive Function: As a primary component of stomach acid (HCl), chronic digestive issues or prolonged vomiting can lead to significantly depleted chloride levels.
Electrolyte levels can fluctuate based on diet, medication, and environmental stressors. Our mobile service ensures your samples are collected in a resting, baseline state at your convenience.
Clinical Precision: We utilize gold-standard laboratory partners (including Mayo Clinic Laboratories) to ensure your electrolyte data is accurate and actionable.
Seamless Process: From professional phlebotomy in your home to secure digital results, we manage the entire diagnostic chain.

No we are not connected with provincial health or any other organizations, this is 100% private testing. No requisition is needed (with the exception of cancer screening and prenatal genetic tests), you pay for the tests you want and the PDF results are securely emailed to you. You can download them and do with them as you please.
Different tests have different turnaround times, and we generally tell people to expect a result window of 3-10 days, depending on when your blood draw is completed. We ship specimens on Wednesdays, and so a blood draw on a Tuesday would result much faster than a blood draw on a Thursday which would have to wait 6 days before shipping.
No we are 100% private, anyone can access our tests you do not require provincial health coverage or even Canadian citizenship.
Our third party home services provider is familiar with and comfortable with collections on children. We leave it to the discretion of the parent, and our third party provider if a draw on a child will be acceptable.
Each test has its own price, which can be found by clicking the book now link on our site. We do not offer multi test discounts, the price of each test remains the same regardless of the number of test purchased. You can pick and choose whichever tests you like to meet your needs.
