At AvoVita, we believe that health is not merely the absence of disease, but the absence of the "invisible" stressors that compromise your vitality. Chronic fatigue, persistent brain fog, skin disruptions, and digestive distress are often the body's way of signaling an overload of environmental triggers.
Our Allergies, Toxins, and Food Sensitivities hub provides a streamlined path to high-precision diagnostics that are rarely available through conventional channels. By partnering with international leaders like ArminLabs and Mayo Clinic Laboratories, we empower Calgary residents to move beyond general symptoms and identify specific biological triggers—from hidden mold toxins to delayed food sensitivities.
Private Allergen, Toxin, and Food Sensitivity Testing Calgary
At AvoVita, we provide a multi-layered approach to identifying dietary triggers. Understanding the distinction between a true "allergy" and a silent "sensitivity" is the essential first step in resolving chronic inflammatory symptoms and reclaiming your metabolic health.
Most conventional medical testing focuses solely on IgE antibodies, which mediate immediate, often severe, allergic reactions—such as hives, swelling, or respiratory distress. While critical, IgE testing only tells part of the story.
Many chronic issues—including persistent bloating, migraines, joint pain, and skin flare-ups—are driven by IgG antibodies. These represent "delayed" sensitivities that can trigger an inflammatory response hours or even days after a food is consumed. Because of this delay, identifying these triggers through an elimination diet alone is often impossible. At AvoVita, we bridge this diagnostic gap by testing both pathways.
For those seeking a total mapping of their nutritional compatibility, we offer the ArminLabs FoodScreen series. These panels utilize high-precision laboratory techniques to measure IgG immune responses against a vast array of dietary antigens, allowing you to see exactly which foods are taxing your system:
FoodScreen Basic (90 Foods): A focused entry-point identifying the most common dietary triggers.
FoodScreen Plus (180 Foods): A broader assessment covering a wide range of modern dietary proteins, grains, and spices.
FoodScreen Complete (270 Foods): Our most extensive profile, providing a definitive blueprint of your body’s unique reactive landscape.
To ensure a complete safety profile, we provide gold-standard IgE testing through Mayo Clinic Laboratories. This targeted testing identifies true, immediate allergies to specific environmental and food-based triggers. By utilizing one of the world’s most sophisticated diagnostic networks, we ensure that your results are backed by the highest level of clinical precision available today.
By assessing both immediate and delayed immune pathways, AvoVita provides the comprehensive data necessary to transition from "guessing" to "knowing." This data-driven approach allows you to design a lifestyle and nutritional strategy that actively supports—rather than stresses—your immune system.
At AvoVita, we provide a sophisticated, two-tiered approach to investigating mold-related illness. Understanding whether your body is experiencing an allergic immune response or a toxic accumulation is essential for developing an effective recovery strategy.
By offering both IgE allergy panels from Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Mycotoxin screening from ArminLabs, we ensure you have the clinical-grade data needed to distinguish between these two distinct biological pathways.

Mayo Clinic: Targeted IgE Mold Allergy Panel
This panel is the gold standard for identifying a true mold allergy. It screens for immediate hypersensitivity to the most common indoor and outdoor mold spores. If you experience localized symptoms—such as sneezing, watery eyes, or skin irritation—when entering specific buildings, this panel identifies which specific fungal species are triggering your immune system's "alarm" response.
ArminLabs: ToxiPlex Mycotoxin Screen
The ToxiPlex is a high-sensitivity panel designed for those investigating "invisible" or chronic systemic issues. Mycotoxins are fat-soluble metabolites produced by molds that can accumulate in the nervous system and fatty tissues over time. This screen identifies the actual toxic load in your system, providing objective evidence of environmental toxicity that traditional allergy tests cannot detect.
Select the diagnostic path that best fits your symptoms:
Identifying the specific airborne triggers behind seasonal or year-round respiratory distress is the first step toward regaining environmental control. At AvoVita, we offer gold-standard IgE antibody testing through Mayo Clinic Laboratories, focusing on the primary biological irritants found in our local and indoor environments. Whether you are investigating a suspected sensitivity to pet dander, dust mites, or regional pollens, these panels provide clinical-grade insights into your body’s immediate immune reactivity. By establishing which environmental inputs are taxing your system, you can implement targeted avoidance strategies and optimize your indoor air quality with precision.
To provide an efficient and comprehensive overview of your environmental health, several of our high-level allergen profiles are processed using a "pooled" testing methodology. In this approach, related allergens (such as various regional grasses or different species of dust mites) are combined into a single group for the initial screen. A negative result in a pool allows you to confidently rule out a sensitivity to every item within that group. If a pool returns a positive result, it indicates that your immune system is reactive to at least one item in that specific category. To identify the exact individual trigger, follow-up "reflex" testing is required. Please note that individual confirmatory tests for positive pools are not included in the initial screening price, ensuring you only invest in the detailed diagnostics that your specific results demand.
What if I told you that some of the furniture in your house and the beauty products you use on your body were potentially causing you to have an increased appetite? While the science may not totally be there to support this claim…yet…I believe that there could be a correlation and that it’s at least worth considering. Stick with me on this one and read through this post to see if it’s something you think might one day prove to be valid, and for ways you can help reduce your exposure to this toxic chemical.
No we are not connected with provincial health or any other organizations, this is 100% private testing. No requisition is needed (with the exception of cancer screening and prenatal genetic tests), you pay for the tests you want and the PDF results are securely emailed to you. You can download them and do with them as you please.
Different tests have different turnaround times, and we generally tell people to expect a result window of 3-10 days, depending on when your blood draw is completed. We ship specimens on Wednesdays, and so a blood draw on a Tuesday would result much faster than a blood draw on a Thursday which would have to wait 6 days before shipping.
No we are 100% private, anyone can access our tests you do not require provincial health coverage or even Canadian citizenship.
Our third party home services provider is familiar with and comfortable with collections on children. We leave it to the discretion of the parent, and our third party provider if a draw on a child will be acceptable.
Each test has its own price, which can be found by clicking the book now link on our site. We do not offer multi test discounts, the price of each test remains the same regardless of the number of test purchased. You can pick and choose whichever tests you like to meet your needs.
